Privacy Policy

This policy explains what data the FollowMoves iPhone app and this website collect, why we need it and what you can do with it. FollowMoves is operated by FollowMoves (“we”). If you have questions, write to support@followmoves.com.

What FollowMoves does

FollowMoves lets you track the following list of public Instagram accounts and notifies you when an account follows someone new or unfollows someone. To do that we store the accounts you add and regularly read their public following lists.

Data we collect about you

Your account

• An identifier from Sign in with Apple. Apple may also share your name the first time you sign in; we don’t store it. We don’t ask for your email address.
• A token from Apple, stored encrypted, that lets us revoke the app’s access to your Apple ID when you delete your account.
• Your app language and time zone, so notifications arrive in your language.
• Session tokens that keep you signed in.

Your device

• A push notification token, so we can send you notifications. It is deleted when you sign out.

Your subscription

• Purchase information that Apple sends us: the product, transaction identifier, expiration date and whether the subscription renews. Payments are processed by Apple; we never see your card details.

How you use the app

• The Instagram accounts you track, when you added them and your notification settings for each.
• Counters for daily limits, such as how many accounts you added or looked up.
• Server logs with technical details of requests, such as time, address and errors. We use them to keep the service running and secure and keep them only for a limited time.

The app has no advertising and no third-party analytics. We don’t sell your data or use it for advertising.

Public Instagram data

For the accounts you track, and for the accounts they follow, we collect information that is publicly available on Instagram: username, display name, profile picture link, whether the account is private or verified, the number of accounts it follows, the following list and the changes we notice in it. We get this data through a third-party data provider. We never sign in to Instagram on your behalf and never ask for your Instagram password.

If you are an Instagram user and want us to remove data about your account, write to support@followmoves.com.

Why we use the data

• To provide the service: check tracked accounts, show their history and send you notifications.
• To manage your subscription and apply its limits.
• To keep the service secure, prevent abuse and fix problems.

Where data protection law requires a legal basis, we rely on performing our contract with you, and on our legitimate interest in running a secure service and in processing public data that our users choose to track.

Who we share data with

We share data only with providers that help us run FollowMoves, and only what they need:

• Apple, for Sign in with Apple, push notifications and App Store subscriptions.
• Our Instagram data provider, which receives the usernames or identifiers of the Instagram accounts we check. It doesn’t receive any information about you.
• Hosting, network and backup storage providers, including Cloudflare, which serves this website.

We may also disclose data when the law requires it.

How long we keep data

• Your account data is kept until you delete your account.
• When you delete your account, we delete your account, tracked accounts, settings and push tokens right away, and revoke the app’s access to your Apple ID. Copies in backups are overwritten as backups rotate.
• Public Instagram data is kept while we need it to provide the service. We delete data about an Instagram account when its owner asks us to.

Your choices and rights

• Delete your account and data in the app: Profile, then Delete account.
• Turn off notifications for any account in the app, or for the whole app in iPhone settings.
• Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or export your data, and to object to or restrict its processing. Write to support@followmoves.com and we’ll reply within 30 days. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.

An App Store subscription isn’t canceled when you delete your account. Cancel it in your iPhone settings.

Security

Data is transferred over encrypted connections. Access to our servers is restricted, and sensitive tokens are stored encrypted or hashed.

Children

FollowMoves is not intended for children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect data from them.

This website

This website doesn’t use cookies, analytics or third-party scripts. Cloudflare, which hosts it, processes request data such as IP addresses to deliver and protect the site.

International transfers

Our providers may process data in countries other than yours. When they do, we rely on safeguards required by applicable law.

Changes to this policy

When we change this policy, we update the date at the top. If the changes are significant, we’ll let you know in the app.
